Whereas the Bar Tender is a full-featured label printing program that can print labels on its own, OmniBar is a memory-resident software driver for adding bar code capability to other programs that already have label printing capability. For example, OmniBar lets you add bar code capabilities to word processors, spreadsheets, databases and a huge variety of custom programs as well.
Although OmniBar is a DOS driver, it works just as well under Windows 3.1. However, under Windows 95, you can only use OmniBar with DOS programs running in a DOS window, and then only to print to local printers (that is, not to those accessed over your network). There are no plans for OmniBar to support Windows NT.
