eB DM is Spescom Softwares powerful integrated document management (IDM) suite that enables users to effectively manage their documents. eB DM forms part of the eB integrated document, configuration and records management (iDCR) family of products that enables the effective capture, management and distribution of all types of information across an enterprise. eB is structured as a 3-tier architecture. The application is developed in 32-bit C++ as Microsoft COM components. Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS) is the infrastructure middleware enabling a distributed (DCOM) environment. Two-phase commit protocols are used to ensure data integrity when updating the database and adding files or other application functions, with Microsoft Message Queue Server (MSMQ) providing the queuing capabilities. eB client components support Windows 95, 98 and NT/2000 workstations. The Application Server is an NT 4 server and the Data servers may be NT 4, SUN or HP Unix servers. eB supports Oracle v 8 and SQL Server v 7 on NT 4, and Oracle 8 on SUN and HP Unix servers.
