FAXCOM for NDS is an NDS-enabled fax solution that provides complete fax management capabilities to users in your Novell Directory Services (NDS) database. FAXCOM for NDS includes the FAXCOM Client for Windows-based users, the Web Client for Web browser-based users and full support for GroupWise Mail users.

Because FAXCOM for NDS is so tightly integrated with Novell Directory Services (NDS), managing fax service users and fax queues is as easy as managing any other component of your network. Using ConsoleOne/ NWAdmin, you can create fax queues anywhere within the NDS tree. You then assign individual users to fax queues by selecting the appropriate rule from the drop-down list, selecting the specific conditional and selecting the fax queue. Its that simple.

To support GroupWise clients, you perform some additional steps in ConsoleOne/ NWAdmin to create the fax gateway object for each GroupWise domain to be connected to fax. Within ConsoleOne/ NWAdmin, you then set up the FAXCOM Agent for GroupWise domains to connect a GroupWise domain to fax queues.

To automatically route incoming faxes to users - whether FAXCOM Client users, Web Client users, or GroupWise users - within ConsoleOne/ NWAdmin, you select the User object, access the users Identification page and enter the users incoming fax number in the Fax number field. You can also route faxes to groups of users, GroupWise External Entities, printers, and Shared Fax Folders to which multiple users are given access. FAXCOM for NDS even includes a utility that lets you view users according to their fax number and vice versa (view fax numbers according to users). Using this utility, you can then assign a range of fax numbers to a range of users.
