Microsoft Word is a complex program. A paragraph indent or character font that looks the same could have been created in at least half a dozen ways. If they all look the same, and you are only writing a short letter, there is no problem. If you have to write a more complex document or are editing the same document over and over again, your document can start to MISBEHAVE.
