Visimation ProjectPix is a Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio add-on that helps managers run projects more effectively. Microsoft Project does not currently provide features to graphically view and manipulate a projects structure or task responsibilities. ProjectPix adds this capability through two types of charts produced from Microsoft Project data files:

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)—The WBS program generates diagrams in Visio from Microsoft Project data, providing a rich set of display options for the task boxes. The WBS Shape Wizard guides the user through the process of selecting the appropriate information, with control over the formatting and display of each individual level in the structure.

Responsibility Assignment Matrix (RAM)—The RAM program enhances Microsoft Project so that managers can assign specific responsibility for tasks to team members. The user assigns tasks to resources in Microsoft Project, and the RAM tool adds the ability to specify several types of responsibility, or roles (Resource, Lead Resource, Sponsor, Stakeholder) to be stored within the Microsoft Project file. The RAM chart produced by Visio shows each contributors role for easy visual reference by the entire team.

ProjectPix installs a custom menu item into the Microsoft Project user interface, providing the ability to generate Visio WBS and RAM charts from within Microsoft Project. ProjectPix also enables users to modify a projects structure and responsibilities in the familiar Visio visual environment, and then update the Project file with the results.

These diagrams are valuable communication and decision support tools for managers and other project dependents.
