Creation of Gantt charts
Calculation and display of the critical path
Create Portals to link together Business Processes Training Courses Work Instructions Quality Manuals Controlled Documents Third Party Applications
The User May Enter for Each Activity:
Duration (estimated and actual) The number of occurrences of the activity
Whether the occurrences are in serial or parallel
Lateness
Priority
The type of value added by the activity (business or support process)
The cost of the activity (manual or auto-calculated from resource library)
The relative cost (cost per unit time)
The proposed finish date and time
The probability that a preceding activity will cause a subsequent activity to occur (displayed on link line)
Values from the child diagram or hierarchy can be aggregated up to an activity
The activity can be marked as complete
The User May Enter for Each Resource (contained in a library):
Name Type Position Description of role Cost per unit time Availability (hours per day, days per week, weeks per year) Resources can be deleted from the Resources Library. The user may choose whether or not to check if they are used in other diagrams.
The User May Display for Each Activity (optional in any combination): Critical path information early start and finish, duration; late start and finish, float
Relative time Priority Lateness (un-costed extra duration) Delay (accumulated lateness) Occurrence rate Duration Finish date Finish time Probability of activity occurring Cost of activity
The Diagram or Project may be Analyzed in Different Ways: Cost and duration may be aggregated up to an activity either from its child diagram or from its whole child hierarchy.
Path Analysis shows the duration, cost, probability, lateness and delay associated with each path through the process.
Case Analysis shows the duration, cost, probability, lateness and delay associated with each case through the process.
Process Analysis shows the maximum, average and minimum head counts, man hours, costs and durations associated with the process.
Relative Cost & Time shows the absolute cost of an activity multiplied by the periodicity of that activity and can be thought of as being the cost per unit time. Time units can be standardized throughout a project.
Value Added Analysis shows whether costs are attributed to business or support processes, whether an activity is on the critical path (and the float of those not on the critical path), its priority, and any delay associated with the activity.
Resource Analysis Report for all resources, or a specific resource, employed in the current diagram, current project or all projects in the active directory. This report identifies the activities for which individual resources are responsible, the input and output conditions, and the internal suppliers and customers for those activities.
Activity Checklist report for all resources, or a specific resource, employed in the current diagram, current project, or all projects in the active directory. This report shows the status of an activity (complete, incomplete or behind time), the completion date, resources employed, activity text, duration and cost, and the diagram location. Activities can be checked as complete directly from the report. The report can be sorted in a number of different ways, filtered to show activities of a particular status, and exported to other applications. It makes an ideal To Do list, which can be used dynamically from a PC, or printed out for distribution.
A Gantt chart showing a timeline of resource utilization in a diagram can be displayed. This displays duration, float and clash.
Where a project has a number of what if scenarios, QVIS offers the users the opportunity to enter and store each scenario, then select the most appropriate scenario to be the main diagram.
