PublicPrivateWare
Description
Public2PrivateWare (P2P) is designed for those using Outlook connected to an Exchange Server. P2P is an Outlook Add-on (Com object) that is usually used to synchronize a group calendar to a private calendar, but can be used on any combination of 2 calendars in Outlook, either public or private. Synchronization, in this case, means making a copy of all items in the source calendar selected and putting them into the destination calendar selected.
The program was originally designed for public folder to private folder synchronization for handhelds, but can be used for any calendar, whether public or private. Since PDAs usually do not have the ability to synchronize a public folder system, P2P was created to copy all the items in the public and place a copy in the private so Active Sync can bring it to the PDA. Next time replication occurs, the items are updated. If a P2P user makes changes to their copy of the public folder calendar item, P2P can be set to save the changes in the private copy. Once set up, P2P works in the background.
