DecisionCentric Description

DecisionCentric is a cross-platform Business Intelligence tool for consolidating data from multiple data sources. An easy-to-use interface provides complete control over the design of reports and forms. Users create and run requests that extract result sets from the data sources.

Users can view the result set in many ways including as a data cube with drill-down, roll-up, and charting features. What’s more, users can export the result set in various formats including HTML, PDF, and XML..

1 Create reports using a free-form report layout control to do everything from simple columnar reports to complex forms. Because you have complete over the design of a report, you can display the information the way you want to see it.
2 Create extract files in various formats including fixed length, variable length, and DBF. These extract files are a subset of records and fields from the data sources. You can load extract files into a word processor, spreadsheet, or database for added use and analysis.

3 Create spreadsheets in Excel format that can have:

Multiple sheets

Blank rows when there is a change in the value of a sort field (called sort breaks)

A message at the sort breaks

Functions under columns at the sort breaks

Different sets of records used for each column

Different sets of records used for each row

New columns that are expressions of other columns and sort break functions

4 Create a data cube to evaluate what decision might be the best for achieving a given set of goals. Though called a cube, it can be a two-dimensional, three-dimensional, or higher-dimensional representation of your data. For a given set of dimensions and measures, the data cube represents reporting the summaries of the measures for all combinations of the dimensions. For example, a data cube could contain a count for the number of times a field occurs in the database, or the minimum, maximum, sum, or average value of some field. You can view the data cube in various ways and drill-down into multiple detail levels.
