Fast Track - Request Management Description

This is a stand alone tool for registering and tracking project requests. Fast Track provides the following key features.

Request Types, you can define your own request types. The standard installation is shipped with request types Enhancement, Defect, Incident and Fast Track.

Work flow, for each request type you can define your own work flow. The work flow defines the states that the request can follow.

Auto Assignment, whilst defining the work flow you can associate a state transition with an auto assignment to a nominated person. For example, all pending approval requests can be auto assigned to the project manager. This feature is now also supported with e-mail notification.

Auto Prompt, whilst defining the work flow you can associate a state transition with a mandatory user input. For example, when a request completes impact analysis the user is prompted to enter the impact analysis report.

Release Tracking, all requests can be associated with a software release id. By tracking the status of the individual requests you can determine if the release is ready or not.

Ease of Use, the Fast Track user interface resembles that of MS Outlook. If your users are familiar with MS Outlook then they should be at home with Fast Track.
