WinThread provides thread form data for Unified Inch Screw Threads (UN and UNR thread forms) in accordance with ANSI B1.1-1989. The user can select from UNC, UNF, UNEF or the constant pitch series (4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 18, 20, 28 and 32 UN series). A database of material properties and lubrication properties is provided so that based upon user selection a recommended torque value is determined to achieve the desired bolt stress.

The program will also calculate the minimum length of thread engagement required for the bolting materials selected such that the full strength of the bolt is developed. The material properties used for torque and thread engagement calculations can be modified (and added to) with the user’s specific data.
