AlphaMED has evolved from a minicomputer environment into a powerful Linux based solution. Corporate giants, such as IBM, Deutsche Telecom, Sun Microsystems and even NASA have migrated their Windows systems to Linux due to its reliability and efficiency. AlphaMED utilizes a PC as the file server and dumb terminals or PCs as workstations. Therefore, PCs may be matched with dumb terminals and offices with older equipment will not be required to completely update their hardware.

AlphaMED is designed to provide speed and functionality. All tasks are performed using the keyboard for optimum data entry and system navigation. For many, this is a more efficient alternative for data entry than using a windows environment.
