The Rental and Point-of-Sale application software program is labeled and known as VHS (Virtual Hire System). The VHS system was originally designed to manage rental items within a video store. It has now grown into a powerful application that may be used to manage any business where merchandise is hired or sold at point-of-sale to the public. This software has also been successfully used for audio book rentals, and may be extended to other merchandise. Many of our customers have used this software in excess of 17 years.

· It is a fully-fledged Windows application that has gone through many technical evolutions making it durable and powerful. The operator is able to work with more than one customer at a time handling rentals and sell-thru items on the same receipt voucher, no need for window hopping.

· The VHS system also comes supplied with its own barcode generation routines that are utilized to produce barcodes from the customer and inventory catalogue databases.

· SMS cell phone services are supported to remind customers of their reservations and of rental items late for return. Additionally this service can also provide management with Turnover reports daily on their phones.

· Also note that the VHS system can be set to run in a General Sales Tax (GST) or Value Added Tax (VAT) environments.

· Another special feature is the ability to play multi-media mpeg/avi/dat/mp3/wav files from the VHS inventory catalogue; playing movie trailers for your customers or stereo music/commentary files, a great drawing card.

· Business statistics for both customer re-patronization, rental and sell-thru are represented graphically supporting buying, selling and promotional decisions.

· Employee best practice record keeping e.g. Medical aid details, Family doctor, Medical alert, Next of kin, Salary history, Disciplinary records, employee photograph and employee turnover contribution represented in a 12 month revolving calendar.

· The system comes supplied with a comprehensive online User guide that covers the installation, using, configuring, maintaining and backing up VHS. Following the User guides recommendations will reduce/eliminate the need for specialized computer engineers.

· The VHS application may be run either in a single User or multi-User mode with several computers connected on a local area network (LAN). And there is no need to purchase a separate database management system; VHS comes supplied with its own that is of industry standard.

· All reports including barcode generation can be previewed and the User has the option to select the pages or range of pages that require printing; why use paper if it is not required; zoom in and zoom out features are also included.
