Leveraging the intelligent template structure of Content Server, Satellite
Server breaks dynamic pages into "pagelet" components and stores them in cache,
ready for assembly and delivery of dynamic pages. Cached objects stored by
Satellite Server are automatically updated and flushed through a standard
Content Server publishing cycle-ensuring that the latest content is available in
cache at all times. As many Satellite Servers, as needed, can be added to a
Content Server implementation. Because Satellite Server can be run on
inexpensive hardware, this dramatically reduces the cost of deployment of highly
dynamic sites. Additionally, Satellite Servers can be added at the edge of the
network. By bringing content closer to content consumers, response times can be
dramatically increased while minimizing the cost of an international
infrastructure.
