C for AIX provides improved compile and execution performance, additional memory management debug routines, and supports the runtime dynamic linking provided by AIX V4.3.3 or later.

There is also support for IBM and OpenMP parallel programming APIs, improved prototyping of programs, and cross-platform compatibility with other compilers within the VisualAge family.
